Let's Go Killer Whales!

Message from Coach Maya:

Practices are going well and glad to have some warm weather back...in the event of rain, if the pool is open, practice will be held.  Also, check the hotline... 363-4411.

Remember to sign out for all meets that your child will not attend (or will be late or must leave early)... the sheets are posted on our bulletin board (to the right of the concession stand as you stand in line).  All meets, including the red/white and S.W.I.M invitational meets are posted already.

All 6&unders (pre-swim and swim team) continue to attend practice every day this week.  An email will be sent out late in the week to let you know whether or not your child will be on the pre-swim or swim team.

Calling all BIG WHALES... we need your help for our "little whales" this year... all 6&under swimmers and any 7-8 swimmers new to the team are "little whales" and will be assigned a swimmer on the team 11 yrs and older, your "big whale".  They will assist their little whale by being a great positive role model, by encouraging them to be their best, by "catching" their little whales during the meet (meet the 6&unders in the pool during the race-- they only swim 1/2 lap), and by being a friend to answer any questions they might have.  Big whales can request their little whale, but are not guaranteed who they get.  If your child is interested in being a big whale, please email coach Eric at emk0209@gmail.com.

Numbers for your swimmers will be posted by next Friday, June 5th.  Please note that this number needs to be written on both arms for every Tuesday night meet (using a permanent marker).  This is very important as the timers use these numbers to get the swimmers' time.  Please write legibly and large enough to see.

Please make sure you place your swim suit orders this week (if you haven't already)... we will have them ordered next week in time for the red/white meet (Caroline Silver is the contact)...

Special clinic this Saturday, May 30 is for 11&over swimmers providing instruction on freestyle flip turns and stroke turns.  Clinics will be held on Saturday mornings at 10:00.  If there is overwhelming interest, others may be added (9:30, 9:00...).  The cost is $3 per swimmer and signup sheets will be posted on the swim team bulletin board on Wed 5/27 at 5:10.  Space limited and walk-ins not accepted on Saturday if clinic is full.

REMINDER:  The SVST fundraiser at Chili’s is on Monday night June 8th, so please plan on eating dinner at Chili’s that night and mention the SVST….we get a % of the sales.  Attached is the flier detailing the event.
