Killer Whales Weekly

June 14, 2007

In spite of the stormy weather, we had a victorious evening at Sunset Ridge! We appreciate the parents & swimmers sticking it out through the weather delays. Thank you to all of the parent volunteers and congratulations to the winners of the $10 gift cards – Shelley Ching, Ave Smith & Julie DeVries.

June 19th Swim Meet – Dutchman Downs at Home

If you are unable to attend this meet, please sign out on the bulletin board by 3 pm Sunday, June 17th.

Volunteer sign-in – The Volunteer sign-in table will be located just behind the front desk. Please sign in as soon as you arrive – even if your volunteer job does not begin at that time. This enables us to enter you in the raffle as well as assess the need to recruit substitute volunteers for open positions.

Attention Swimmers ages 15-18: Bring Bake Sale items. Please deliver the items before 6 pm if possible to the Bake Sale table located next to the front desk. If you have any questions, call Barb Smiechowski at 306-0093

Where can we park? As a courtesy to the visiting team’s families and swimmers, we reserve the swimming pool parking lot for their use. You may use the fire lane for drop-off. Parking is available on the following streets: Old Raleigh Road (both sides), Chimney Hill (one side only), Carriage Ridge (one side only), Shepherds Vineyard Drive (both sides). Parking is also available at the library lot. Please note that the offices and daycare have not given us permission to park in their lots during their regular business hours. The best plan is to walk/ride a bike if you can.

What’s for dinner? Pizza by the slice will be sold during the meet. The full Concession Stand menu of drinks, candy, ice cream, pretzels, uncrustables, hot dogs & popcorn will also be for sale.

Post-meet Outing/Fundraiser: The swim team will be gathering at the Ice Cream Shoppe in downtown Apex immediately after the meet. Everyone is invited! A percentage of the sales will be donated to SVST.

What should I wear? Show your team spirit by decking out in your Killer Whales Spiritwear. If you need another shirt, hoodie, shorts, tattoos, buttons, cap or bag, then stop by the Spiritwear table at the meet. Don’t forget to pick up your pre-ordered items too!

Do you need a gift? The Spiritwear table also has a few Goodberry’s cards left. The gift cards are $12 and make an ideal teacher/bus driver/birthday gift.
