Tuesday, July 15th – Away meet against Kildaire Farms

A MESSAGE FROM KILDAIRE FARMS TSA REP:

Greeting from the Kildaire Farm Killer Whales,

We look forward to hosting Shepherd's Vineyard Tuesday evening.   The weather looks great so we should have a complete meet. 

1.  Kildaire Farms is a 6 lane pool and it is 25 yards long.  We have approximately 141 swimmers this year. In order to expedite the meet we use "dive-over" starts on the 50 yard events.

 2.  We have a concession stand and will be selling hamburgers, pizza, baked potatoes, drinks and other items for dinner. 

3.  There will be a pre-meeting at 5:45 p.m. for all judges, timers, and other meet officials on the wood deck by the snack bar.  Please be on time-we have a new timing system and it is important that everyone hears about it.

4.   Please bring folding chairs if possible. We have some shade but pop-up tents would be encouraged.

5.  Warm-up for Shepherd's Vineyard will be at 5:30 and you will swim in lanes 2, 4, and 6 for the meet. 

6.  We would also like to have a Coach/Parent relay if time allows.   Please let me know before the meet so we can get the teams together.   

7.  The Kildaire Farms pool parking lot will be available to you, once it is full you can park along the street.   We highly recommend carpooling if possible.

Directions

From I-40, take Exit 293A to US 1 South & US 64 West; or from the I-440 Beltline, just continue south past I-40, to where the road becomes US 1 South & US 64 West. Get off at Exit 99 and turn right at the top of the ramp onto Cary Parkway westbound. Proceed straight through four sets of traffic lights. About half a mile past the fourth set of lights (at Kildaire Farm Road), turn right at the fifth set of lights onto Two Creeks Road. (This side street is opposite the Woods of Kildaire subdivision sign.) Proceed about a quarter of a mile on Two Creeks Road, until you see signs for Kildaire Farms Racquet and Swim Club on your left; this will be the SECOND intersection with Pebble Creek Drive. If you turn left there, you will find limited parking at the pool. Another parking alternative is to continue on Two Creeks Road for another few hundred feet and turn left into the parking lot by the tennis courts.

PICTURE DAY MAKEUPS - TSS Photography will be at Shepherd's Vineyard for individual makeup pictures during the following practices - Monday morning (9:15-11:30), Tuesday morning (9:15-11:30), and Wednesday evening (5:00-7:30).  If these times do not work please contact Bob Robinson (387-5841 or bobrobapex@gmail.com) to coordinate a time.  The TSS Photography price sheet is attached.  Additionally, this year's team photo is on display at the entrance to the pool.  If you are interested in ordering one, 8x10s are $14 and 5x7s are $10.

BANQUET NEWS – The SV Swim Team Banquet is always a highlight of the year.  The coaches, the swim team board and several volunteers are already working to make this the best banquet ever!  Tickets are $2.50 each for the swimmers/family members 6 and under, $5.00 for everyone else and a maximum price of $20 for your entire family.  The menu has been expanded to include a baked BBQ chicken choice in addition to the fried chicken and BBQ.  Also included in the meal price are veggies and dessert!  The banquet should end at 8:00 pm. 

Ticket sales for the Wednesday, July 23 Swim Team Banquet will end the evening of Thursday, July 17!  On Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings (July 14, 15 and 17), from 9:30 to noon, Alicia Nunnally will have tickets for sale near the snack bar at the pool.  Tickets will also be available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from Robin Boudwin from 5:15 to 7:30 pm.  We will also have the tickets for sale at the Kildaire Farms Away Meet on Tuesday evening.  Just look for the ticket sales sign.  Please remember that the banquet tickets must be purchased in advance!
